On Wednesday, October 31, 2018, trustees of Crime Stoppers set up their booth on Clinton Place in Hackensack. Looking to make their presence in the community known, Crime Stoppers members displayed their banner, handed out candy, and interacted with the Incredibles, Witches, Super Heros - such as Batman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Superman, The Flash, Spiderman - Princesses, Ariel, and many other Halloween costumed kids. We even met with Flo from Progressive and Colonel Sanders. Our purpose was to let the community members, as well as the visitors to Hackensack, know about our organization and its mission.
The Hackensack street, where Halloween decorated homes draw crowds of young and old trick or treaters and even some who come to delight in the scary, funny, and awesomely decorated lawns and houses, was a perfect venue to meet and greet the people in the community. Crime Stoppers also provided Glow Stick necklaces to colorfully light the youngsters as they roamed the dark street in search of treats. Parents, grandparents, and friends graciously donated to Crime Stoppers for the Glow Sticks to provide that extra safety for the young trick or treaters.
Crime Stoppers graciously thanks the Von Rudenborg family for allowing us to set up by their home for the evening. Thanks also goes out to NVE Bank -Jeff Dulle - for the candy donation as well as to the Stop & Shop Supermarkets for donating the gift cards used to purchase, yes, you guessed it, more candy. It was an amazing night for those who came by and a successful one for Crime Stoppers. Thank you to all those visitors to Clinton Place who donated to our organization on Halloween Night. Your donation will help us continue to serve the community, law enforcement, and work with the media that will spread the word on crime prevention, solving crimes, and making our communities safer for its citizens.
