How Do I Report A Crime?

Crime Stoppers will forward information you have concerning unsolved crimes, offenses or fugitives wanted, to the appropriate law enforcement agency. Before calling 844.466.6789 or submitting an ONLINE TIP, please be prepared to give as much detail about the crime or fugitive Including but not limited to the following:

  • What type of crime was committed by the suspect or, if a fugitive from justice, what the fugitive is wanted  for.
  • When the crime occurred or when the suspect/fugitive will be at a specific location.
  • Where the crime occurred – Where items from the crime can be found – Where the suspect/fugitive can be located at a specific time.
  • Who is involved: Name, Nickname, Age, Date Of Birth, Address, Height, Weight, Tattoos, Clothing, Vehicle Description – and persons they associate or reside with.
  • Any other details you think will help law enforcement solve the case or capture the suspect/fugitive.

Also have a pen and paper ready to write down your “secret code number.” If you call in your tip to the 844 line, the call-taker will complete a form with the information you provide. They will then assign you the Code Number that you will use when following up with the investigating detective and any follow up calls on the case.  This will become your identity and your means of staying anonymous. If you opt to submit your tip to our ONLINE TIP SUBMISSION, your tip is forwarded to the Crime Stopper’s police liaison of the jurisdiction where the crime or offense occurred. Your tip will be followed up on by a detective and in some cases, that investigator may reach out to you to clarify your information or obtain more information about what you know about the crime, offense or suspect. Never Share Your Secret Code Number With Anyone And Never Give Your Name Or Any Information That Could Identify You To Crime Stoppers.
