Teaneck PD Press Release on Arrests/Charges for Possession/Discharge of Firearm

On Thursday, January 2, 2025, at approximately 4:27 a.m., members of the Teaneck Police Department responded to the area of Harding Avenue and Glenwood Avenue on the report of shots fired in the area. See January 3, 2025 News Release from this department for additional information.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, members of the Teaneck Police Detective Bureau, concluded their investigation into the January 2, 2025, shooting. Teaneck Police
Detectives were able to locate ballistic evidence, which ultimately led them to the discovery of a loaded 9mm Kel-Tec firearm in a nearby residential area. Detectives were also able to determine that the firearm had been used by Kwan Vining to shoot out the rear window
of a passing motor vehicle that contained six people, one of whom had been in a prior domestic relationship with Mr. Vining.
Teaneck Police Detectives secured arrest Warrants for Kawan Vining, Alexander McFarland, and Christian Williams for their respective roles in the shooting. On January 13, 2025, Kawan Vining turned himself in at the Teaneck Police Department. Mr. Alexander McFarland is currently still in the Bergen County Correctional and Rehabilitation Center, as a result of his arrest on January 2, 2025. Mr. Christian Williams is currently outstanding and attempts to locate him are underway.
