About Us

Bergen County Crime Stoppers is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization led by citizens wanting to keep their communities safe against crime. Our Crime Stoppers organization began in 1982 as “Tri-Community Crime Stoppers” with the police agencies of Bergenfield, Hackensack, and Teaneck. Today, we have additional towns and cities that have joined our membership. These agencies are the Englewood, Bogota, Mahwah, South Hackensack, Oakland, and Glen Rock police departments. It is these nine law enforcement agencies that make up the current roster of the Bergen County Crime Stoppers group. However, Crime Stoppers goal is to continue to to try and add more Bergen County police agencies to join our organization. At one time there existed other Crime Stoppers groups that had been established in other areas of Bergen County. They are no longer active as they previously had been in 1980s. Our Crime Stoppers organization has been in existence for 44 years and still regularly meets and provides cash rewards. We hope to soon have the ability to serve all areas of our great County here in the State of New Jersey.
